MathA fraction is a division waiting to happen. Three quarters means three divided by four, and the decimal form is simply the result of carrying that division out. Once you see the fraction bar as a division sign, nothing about the conversion is mysterious.
This game uses denominators that always terminate — halves, quarters, fifths, eighths, twentieths, twenty-fifths — so every answer is exact and checkable by hand. That is deliberate: repeating decimals belong to a later step, and mixing them in here would only blur the pattern.
You are shown a fraction and four decimal values. Pick the matching decimal before the countdown ends; a wrong pick reveals the correct value immediately. Scores stay in this browser only.
Easy uses halves, quarters and tenths. Medium adds eighths, twentieths and twenty-fifths. Hard reaches three decimal places.
Halves and quarters: 1/2 = 0.5, 1/4 = 0.25, 3/4 = 0.75.
Fifths and tenths: 1/5 = 0.2, 2/5 = 0.4, 1/10 = 0.1.
Eighths: 1/8 = 0.125, 3/8 = 0.375, 5/8 = 0.625.
Twentieths and twenty-fifths: 1/20 = 0.05, 1/25 = 0.04.
Scale the denominator to 100. Twenty-fifths and twentieths both convert instantly this way: 7/25 = 28/100 = 0.28, 13/20 = 65/100 = 0.65. Two seconds, no long division.
For eighths, halve three times. 1/8 = 0.5 → 0.25 → 0.125. Any eighths fraction is that value multiplied by the numerator, so 5/8 = 5 × 0.125 = 0.625.
Use the size as a filter first. 3/4 must sit between 0.5 and 1. Options outside that range are wrong before you calculate anything.
Watch the digit count. The most common wrong option is the right digits in the wrong place — 0.75 against 0.075. Count the decimal places in your estimate before you tap.
